This template is used to mark a page or section as requiring additional information or updates. For pages that contain very little information in general, use {{Stub}}. For pages that only need formatting or attribution, use {{Wikify}}.

Parameters

• type: the type of information that needs to be added or updated (this helps contributors find the kinds of pages they are interested in editing, and displays additional prompts). When specifying multiple types, separate them with a comma, listed from most to least needed. The following types are available and more can be added:
  • cite - adding additional references (for a small number of specific references needed, use {{citation needed}}).
  • history - researching and adding historical information
  • image - adding image(s) to the page
  • links - adding links to other pages on the wiki, or external sites with more information
  • positions - updating position (office) information
  • update - general updates needed to reflect current status
• unnamed parameter: any additional details on the reason for adding the notice.
• date (required): the month and year in which you have added the notice to the page. This will determine whether the page should be added to Category:Pages with expired notices.
• section: define this parameter to mark only a section, not the whole page (the template should be placed at the beginning of that section).
