This template is used to link to a local archive file of an external resource, such as a forum post, in case the external site goes down. This template must always be used for such files because it lists the page as linking to the file and removes it from Special:UnusedFiles. See also Category:Archive files.

Parameters

The only parameter is a single unnamed parameter, which is required and must be the name of the local file including the extension but not the File: prefix.
