Template:Error/doc

This page contains the documentation for Template:Error. It includes information about the template, such as usage and categories, and is not displayed when using the template itself.

This template should be used any time a template displays an error message. It formats the message and adds the page to the appropriate category.

Parameters

• unnamed parameter: the text of the error. If omitted, a generic error message will be used, including the type if provided.
• type: this determines the category added to the page; by default it is "template".
