Marina is the former Empress of the New Pacific Order in NationStates. She was previously the Senator of Internal Affairs/Senator Of Cultural Affairs, as well as Praefectus, Praetor/Senator of Military Affairs, and Vox Populi. Her work in NationStates has been exclusively for the New Pacific Order with no other regional affiliations. Her main nation is Marinas Island.
Marina in the New Pacific Order
Marina first came to NationStates in 2014, originally as a member of the CyberNations branch. In 2015, she left CyberNations and NationStates became her primary game. Marina's early involvement was in Media and University rather than internal government. She spent those years as a member of Legio Pacifica as an auxiliary member and roleplaying. She was encouraged to become more active in Legio and from there opened the door to her later position as Senator of Military Affairs (then called Praetor). Marina's involvement in roleplay has been consistent over the years, and her leadership there kept matters functional and smooth.
Marina became involved in the Gameplay side of NationStates in 2019, when she was elected Vox Populi.[1] She also served in the Legio Pacifica until she was appointed Praetor (now Senator of Military Affairs) on February 24, 2020.[2] During her time as Praetor, Legio Pacifica had peak function and activity, with strong success under her capable and competent leadership. Marina was succeeded as Praetor by Dimitri and was appointed Senator of Culture on February 28, 2021.[3] This position was consolidated with the Senator of Admissions & Personnel on March 26, 2022, and Marina became one of the first Senators of Internal Affairs (with Jar Wattinree).[4] Marina retired as Senator on October 21, 2022.[5]
After a period serving as an Advisor, Marina returned to full activity in 2024 to become a Senator of Internal Affairs.[6] She, along with Ghost Queen (Greyghost) and Honourbound, consolidated the Praetorian Guard and Culture departments to create Internal Affairs, a department encompassing Outreach and Recruitment as well as internal events. Under their direction, citizenship applications spiked, internal activity in NS NPO skyrocketed, and previous staffing gaps were rapidly filled. In November 2024, Marina was announced as successor to the delegacy,[7] and in early February, Marina became the second Empress of the NationStates branch of the New Pacific Order.[8]
