The Praetorian Guard was previously the oldest department of the New Pacific Order. It monitored new nations and the regional message board in the Pacific for violations of the Civil Code of the Pacific.
History
The group that would become known as The Praetorian Guard was established in the immediate aftermath of the August Revolution to enforce the Civil Code of the Pacific and safeguard the New Pacific Order, then a fledgling organization under threat from multiple foreign groups and numerous spies aligned with them. The Praetorian Guard initially founded on December 8, 2003, and by April 2004 included future NPO luminaries Aleisyr, Mussolandia, Ivan Moldavi, and Warrior Thorin.[1] The Praetorian Guard was officially established on September 1, 2004, with the People's Republic of the Pacific.[2] The initial iteration of the Praetorian Guard was to identify and convict nations in violation of Section 2 of the Judicial Code of the Pacific.
The Praetorian Guard continued on. Records of leaders include Blamange[3], Hofkauzern[4], Laws and Bylaws[5], Feux[6], Gueux[7], Pergamon [8]
During Ivan Moldavi's second time as Emperor, the High Court was re-established, with the Praetorian Guard responsible for informing violators of their rights to representation. The High Court was dissolved, but then re-formed in June 2018.[9] The Praetorian Guard and Legio Pacifica had their ranks separated in April 2019.[10] In April 2020, the Praetorian Guard took on a role in overseeing applications and interviewing new citizen applicants.[11]
The Praetorian Guard was formally dissolved on July 22, 2024, and its duties merged into the Internal Affairs department.[12]
